1 Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Island Pals ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not download or use the app.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and the developer of Island Pals. By using the app, you confirm you are at least 4 years old (or have parental consent) and legally capable of entering into this agreement.

2 Subscriptions & Pricing

Island Pals offers optional auto-renewing subscription plans to unlock premium features. All pricing is in USD and processed through Apple's App Store.

What premium unlocks:

• Up to 3 companions per island (vs 1 on free)
• All island shapes (round, rectangle, capsule, and more)
• Custom emoji, symbols, and text
• All 10 gradient themes
• Ad-free experience — no interstitial ads
• Priority support

Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Renewal charges are applied within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account will be charged accordingly.

3 Free Tier Limitations

The free version of Island Pals provides access to core features with the following limitations:

• Maximum 1 companion object per island
• Limited animal and shape selection
• No custom text, emoji, or symbol support
• Basic island shapes only
• Interstitial advertisements shown approximately every 3 saves

Upgrading to a premium subscription removes all limitations and eliminates advertisements.

4 Advertising

Island Pals displays advertisements to free-tier users via Google AdMob. By using the free version of the app, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Interstitial (full-screen) ads may appear during normal app usage
• Google AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and usage signals for ad targeting
• Ad-supported usage is governed by Google's Privacy Policy

Premium subscribers are completely ad-free. For full details on advertising data, see our Privacy Policy — Section 3.

5 Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID Account Settings:

Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Island Pals → Cancel

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain premium access until the period ends. No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods.

6 Content Ownership

You retain full ownership of all islands, designs, and content you create within Island Pals. Island Pals does not claim ownership of your user-generated content.

All island data is stored locally on your device. Island Pals does not upload, copy, or access your created content for any purpose.

7 Acceptable Use

You agree to use Island Pals only for lawful purposes. You may not use the app to:

• Create, display, or share content that is offensive, illegal, or infringes on third-party rights
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the app or related services
• Use the app in a way that violates applicable laws or regulations

8 Service Availability

Island Pals is primarily an offline app. All core features work without an internet connection. Internet access is only required for:

• Subscription purchase and verification (via Apple's servers)
• Advertisement loading (Google AdMob, free tier only)

We strive to provide a reliable app but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Updates, maintenance, or iOS changes may temporarily affect functionality.

9 Limitation of Liability

Island Pals is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• We make no guarantee that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted
• We are not liable for any loss of data, including loss of islands due to device failure or app deletion
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months prior to the claim

10 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.

For significant changes, we may notify users through the App Store update notes.
